The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, has charged the Lands Commission to speed up efforts to free up space for the commencement of work on the government’s affordable housing schemes and other projects at Amrahia Dairy farms.
The project, according to the minister, is one of the key housing interventions under the instructions of President Akufo-Addo aimed at addressing the housing needs of public officials and civil servants.
The minister said this after he led a team from the Ministry and the Lands Commission to inspect the progress of the pre-acquisition of the Amrahia Dairy Farm land, which lies between the La Nkwantanan Madina and Adenta Municipalities on Wednesday, October 20th, 2021.
Addressing the media, Hon. Jinapor disclosed that the government is set to put to good use the about 1,381acre wide Amrahia farms portion of state lands, hence the demarcation for affordable housing plus other developmental projects.
Explaining how this demarcation will be done, he said " From my understanding, we have some 1381 acres of land here and there is a proposal for us to release part of this land to the Amrahia families, part is going to be for the farm, and part of it is going to be freed up the affordable housing"
He also called on the chiefs of Amrahia and other adjoining communities to work together to forestall land litigations which have the tendency to disrupt the peace of the people.
