The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, has submitted to the Speaker of Parliament, the list of Ministers nominated to serve in the various Ministries and Regions in his second term of office.
So far, the Ministry of Works and Housing is the only Ministry to have a Minister of State and a substantive Minister designate. This, according to the Presidency, is aimed at giving peculiar focus to the critical housing needs confronting the country which is of paramount interest to the President.
Hon. Freda Prempeh, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano North Constituency, has been nominated as Minister of State in charge of works and housing. The MP is not a new face to the works and housing ministry – she was a Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Works and Housing for almost the first half of Nana Addo’s previous government before she was moved to the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to deputise.
Hon. Freda Prempeh has a background in business administration, marketing, media and public relations. Her 2020 campaign website indicates that she is currently pursuing a doctoral study at the Ghana Telecommunication University. Hon. Freda Prempeh is also a member of the Ghana Journalists Association as well as the Institute of Public Relations Ghana.
