WBHO: Senyo M. Adjabeng appointed as Country Director for Ghana

WBHO   has appointed Senyo M. Adjabeng as its Country Director for Ghana.

The former human resources lead for the business in Ghana brings 20 years of working experience in various executive positions and sectors in Ghana including banking, consulting, judicial services, and construction.

Mr. Adjabeng is a graduate of KNUST where he acquired an engineering degree in Minerals Processing and Extractive Metallurgy. He holds post-graduate qualifications in Business Administration, International Relations & Diplomacy, and Conflict Peace and Security.

WBHO Ghana Ltd was founded in 2005 as the addition of WBHO International, a multinational construction giant headquartered in South Africa. The company in Ghana has been one of the leading and most consistent construction companies in civils, building, rail, and mining construction.

The company is proudly associated with the construction of the major malls in Ghana including the Kumasi, Takoradi, Achimota, West Hills, and Junction malls as well as the Accra Mall expansion. The Company also constructed the Standard Chartered Bank Head Office building and is a major construction partner of first-tier mining companies in Ghana.

It is expected of Mr. Adjabeng to deepen brand visibility and expand the market share of the company in the areas of building, mining, and rail construction in Ghana and West Africa. The construction sector in Ghana has demonstrated consistent growth over the past few years, with little sign of slowing, as opportunities in infrastructure and low-cost housing projects are likely to be available in the coming years.

The country remains an attractive location for investment, due to its political stability over the years and the government’s goodwill and policies. The subsector has faced a lot of setbacks such as rising prices of both electricity and building materials but has persisted to grow reflecting the efforts the country has put in.

According to the Ghana Statistical Service, a government body tasked with compiling economic data and indicators, construction was the largest subsector of the industry since 2015, with a growth rate of 30.6% and a 14.8% share of GDP. The sector has grown consistently over the years, up more than 70% from 2010 and employing more than 320,000 people.

Despite the growth, rapid urbanization and a growing housing deficit continue to place a demand on the country’s construction sector. Construction giants such as WBHO will leverage their technology and manpower to bridge the growing housing deficit in the country due to the growing population.
