Sintex Ghana: FAQ Sheet (Water Tanks)

Sintex Ghana: FAQ Sheet (Water Tanks)

Claim: Only virgin plastic (non-recycled) is used in making all water tanks

Fact: Many of our competitors manufacture their tanks using recycled plastic, which reduces

their flexibility and makes them more prone to cracking over time. Unlike our competition,

Sintex tanks are manufactured using 100% virgin plastic material from start to finish

Claim: Harder tanks have more durability and increased lifespan for those using it

Fact: If a water tank is too rigid and inflexible, it becomes difficult for the tank to ‘breathe’

by expanding and contracting when storing large volumes of water in different temperature

surroundings. As a result, Sintex tanks are designed to be elastic yet sturdy and robust in

their performance in order to prevent crack formation and breaking

Claim: All non-black water tanks and tanks of all colours are UV-stabilised

Fact: Hardly any of Sintex’s competitors manufacture non-black tanks with complete UV

protection, which can allow sunrays to enter and lead to algae formation. On the other

hand, every black and non-black Sintex tank is produced using UV-stabilised materials

Claim: Adding more layers to the tank makes them stronger and more durable

Fact: The reality is that adding too many layers during production of water tanks will make

them unnecessarily heavy and rigid in their performance. As a result, Sintex aims to build

water tanks fit for the purpose with long-term performance and lifespan in mind

Claim: All water tanks are made using only food grade plastic material

Fact: Unlike Sintex, many of our competitors using recycled plastics in their production

processes which can introduce toxic chemicals and carcinogenic compounds like phthalates

into the final product, thus not achieving complete hygienic water storage capabilities

Claim: Our company only focuses on supplying water tanks to our customers

Fact: Sintex works to ensure that every customer we serve has our full range of after-sales

services ready at their disposal including guidance on tank installation, professional tank

cleaning and tank repairs in the event of accidental damages being incurred
