The Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) has announced a dividend of GH0.0420 calculated from a dividend rate of 16.2155% per preference share in respect of the dividend payment schedule to kick off next year in March, 2022.
According to the statement, the dividend payments will be available to all preference shareholders registered in the books of Standard Chartered Bank at the close of business on Friday, February 18, 2022.
A statement issued by the Ghana Stock Exchange explained that the Register of preference shareholders will be closed from Monday, February 21, 2022 to Wednesday, February 23, 2022.
"The ex-dividend date has been set as Wednesday, February 16, 2022. Consequently, an investor purchasing SCB preference shares before this date will be entitled to the dividend. However, an investor buying SCB preference shares on or after Wednesday, February 16, 2022 will not be entitled to the dividend, "the statement read.
The statement further indicated the dividend payment date of the said amount of GH¢0.0420 per preference share will be due on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
Meanwhile, earlier this year, the Board of the bank reported a dividend on ordinary shares of GH1.74 culminating in GH234.4m. This represented 23% of the Bank’s total income for 2020.
