The Faculty of Law at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in partnership with the Ministry of Works and Housing, has organised a colloquium on the draft of the Rent Bill and the proposed National Housing Authority Bill in Kumasi.
This academic conference is aimed at providing the needed institutional framework to safeguard issues with rent (Rent Bill) and also help santise the housing related issues in the country.
The Government's quest of providing public housing infrastructure (Housing Authority Bill) for middle income households has necessitated the need for this colloquium at the Kwame Nkrumah university of Science and Technology.
It is our hope that the input from this discussion will be a catalyst to further drive the government's agenda of providing affordable housing units to help cut down the escalating housing deficit in the country.
The Special Guest of Honour for the Seminar will be the Minister of Works and Housing, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye, who has been working tirelessly to make housing more affordable for the people of the country.
Keynote speakers will include the Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Prof Rita Akosua Dickson, Prof. Divine Ahadzie, Head- Center for Settlement Studies, Dr. Ernest Owusu Dapaa, Dean (Faculty of Law), and many other personalities with interest in housing will be available in Seminar.
