The minister of education Dr. Osei Adutwum has touted the 2022 budget statement presented to parliament last week by the Minister of Finance Ken Ofori Atta as the best ever.
Delivering the keynote address at the National Consultative Forum on Development of Infrastructure in Tertiary Education Institutions at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Dr. Adutwum referred participants to appendix 10c in the budget statement saying, that portion of the budget is an indication of seriousness President Akuffo Addo led government attaches to education in the country.
He stated that the provisions outlined in that section of the budget statement are key to the educational needs of the country and have the potential to meet developmental goals of Ghanaians.
The forum which seeks to collate ideas towards finding workable and lasting solution to students’ accommodation problems had in attendance the Minister of Education, Director General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission, Professor Mohammed Salifu and a host of other dignitaries drawn from academia.
He pledged his ministry's readiness to assist tertiary institutions in removing all bottlenecks that impede their procurement processes in order to assist in dealing with the challenges associated with accommodation.
