Agility Warehouses are of International Standard - Charles Schwab

The vice president of Agility Africa, Charles Schwab has claimed that the warehouses constructed by Agility outfit are of international standard, saying the warehouses come with connectivity, security and waste management systems.

He said most of the warehouses in Africa are run-down warehouses and lack the international standard that Multinational Corporations (MNC) and Small and Mid-Size Enterprises (SMEs) are looking to grow their business and investment in the continent.

He made these remarks during an investment forum at Jafza One Convention Center-Dubai, organized by the Ghana Investment Promotion Center.

The business forum was to explore exciting investment prospects across Ghana's Energy, Tourism, Housing and Construction, and Trade and Manufacturing sectors.

Mr. Schwab said investors come with compliance and demand security and connectivity within warehouses to run their operations in the continent.

He revealed that most Multinational Corporations (MNC) that come into the country to invest demand high-quality warehouses in order to be asset-light.

“Once we build such international platforms it's because most of the MNCs that want to try to invest and try a new country, they want to be asset light. So in order to come in, there are lots of compliance that should be within their operations. So they come in and we cover all those compliance for the MNCs,” Mr. Schwab said.

He explained further that all that Agility does is to encourage and support SMEs to expand their business within and outside the continent, and also encourage MNCs to come and be asset light in order to have turnkey operations.

“We are the leaders in funding, developing and operating international standard warehousing across the Middle East and Africa,” he concluded.
